How capo transposition works
A capo raises all open strings by the same number of half-steps. To play in a particular key, find that key in the table header, then read down to the capo fret you want — the cell shows which open-chord shape to finger. For example: capo 2, "Sounds like D" column → play a C shape and it rings out as D. SongCheats calculates all possible capo positions and shows you which one gives the simplest chord shapes for your song.
